Paris and Teo at Broward County Animal Care.
Two lovable dogs at Broward County Animal Care are waiting for families to open their hearts and homes.
Paris – A1882678
An 11-year-old spayed female American Staffordshire Terrier mix weighing 51 pounds, Paris first arrived at the shelter in 2017 as a 2-year-old abandoned dog. She was quickly adopted thanks to her sweet, social personality and remained with her owner for nearly 9 years.
In late February, Paris was returned to Animal Care after her owner became physically unable to care for her.
Despite her age, Paris still has plenty of charm and spunk. Shelter staff describes her as “sweet as candy,” easy to walk with, and well-mannered. After years as a house pet, she is house-trained and would transition smoothly into a new home. Paris is looking for a quiet, loving place to spend her golden years.
She is sponsored by The Pet Project, which provides free food, vaccines and preventatives for life, along with reduced-cost veterinary care.
Teo – A2072372
Teo, a 7-year-old neutered male Australian Kelpie mix weighing 45 pounds, arrived at the shelter in January as an owner surrender.
An affectionate and energetic dog, Teo is a tennis ball enthusiast who loves playing fetch. He also enjoys car rides and thrives on attention and affection. According to his previous owner, Teo is good with children, is house and crate-trained, and knows commands such as “sit” and “paw.” He does experience mild separation anxiety.
Teo has quickly become a favorite among Broward Buddies volunteers. Day fosters reports that he is well-behaved, rides calmly in the car, and is exceptionally lovable.
Prospective adopters can meet Paris, Teo, and other available pets at Broward County Animal Care, 2400 SW 42nd St. in Fort Lauderdale. The shelter is open daily from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
All adopted pets are spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. Adopters pay only $25 for the Broward County registration tag. To view animals currently available for adoption, visit PetAdoptions.Broward.org.
