North Broward Prep baseball went on a magical run a year ago to win a State Championship.
Five of those players recognized on Senior Night in University of Florida commit with Yoel Tejada Jr, Jonathan Xuerub, Jake Hesano, Jason Krause, Mason Caccamise, Clancy Marsh, and team manager Ryan Scanlon.
Tejada Jr (University of Florida), Xuerub (Appalachian State), and Jason Krause (University of Tampa) are all committed to playing baseball in college.
In the game, the Eagles picked up their ninth straight win with a 6-3 victory over Pembroke Pines Charter to improve to 15-8. Despite falling behind 3-0 before taking an at-bat, NBP scored six unanswered runs on RBIs from Nathaneal Coupet, Riley Luft, Tejada Jr, and Xuereb.
Ryan McPherson came out of the bullpen and pitched five shutout innings before Jensen Secular picked up the save. The two pitchers combined to strike out ten and only one walk.
Next, NBP will play Gulliver Prep on Tuesday, April 26, at 6:30 p.m. before facing Palm Beach Gardens in their final regular-season game on April 28. Both those teams have won 13 games this year.
