A senior day care center in Margate has reopened with a new name and a new owner, bringing a fresh vision for care and community.
Maria Hernandez, a 20-year resident of Coral Springs and a longtime professional in long-term care, purchased the facility formerly known as the Senior Social Club and renamed it Senior Vista Adult Day Care Center. Located at 2912 North State Road 7 across from HCA Northwest Hospital, the center aims to provide older adults in Margate, Coral Springs, Parkland, Tamarac and Coconut Creek with a safe and engaging environment.
Hernandez, who spent more than 20 years working in the operational and financial side of long-term care, including Medicaid compliance and regulatory certification, said her background as a Nursing Home Administrator helps her balance the technical side of the business with hands-on care.
“Senior Vista was both a personal goal and professional experience,” Hernandez said. “I’ve seen firsthand how adult day care can offer not just care, but dignity and relationships. I wanted to establish an extension of home for our participants and their families.”
The center will provide breakfast, lunch, snacks, entertainment, and a wide range of activities, including sit-n-soccer, Zumba, dominoes, balloon volleyball, and fitness games. Hernandez emphasized the importance of keeping seniors active and engaged.
“I want the people here to be active and stay in motion,” she said.
The facility serves seniors with diverse life experiences, including a 105-year-old woman who attends with her daughter, who is in her 80s.
The daily cost is $75, which includes meals and all activities. Participants are required to attend at least two days per week, or eight days per month.
