Chipotle is coming to Margate.
City Commissioners last month unanimously approved regulations that paved the way for the opening of the popular, fast-casual eatery, the first Chipotle Mexican Grill in Broward with a “Chipoltelane” pick-up window for online orders, according to the city.
According to city records, the commission approved a plot subdivision and special exception for the restaurant, located at 5671 West Atlantic Blvd.
City officials said the location’s online order pickup lane will be one of the few operating in the country.
“Building on the sweeping success of the mobile ordering platform, Chipotle has created the “Chipotlane,” which will allow customers to order, pay, and select a pick-up time on the mobile app and then simply drive up to the exterior drive thru-esque window to pick up their food, eliminating the need to get out of the car and enter the store,” the applicants said in a request to the city. “With a focus on making the experience as seamless as possible, customers will not be able to order at the drive-thru, thereby eliminating or substantially reducing vehicle stacking issues. This means there will not be a menu board or a noisy intercom speaker, unlike the typical fast-food restaurant.”
City records did not indicate when the restaurant is expected to open.
