
Margate Police {Aiden Palmer}
The Margate Police Department responded to various incidents and made multiple arrests between February 10 and 16, 2026.
Incidents
Fraud – Failure to Redeliver Hired Vehicle
Location: 2600 NW 65 Ave.
A rented vehicle from Enterprise was not returned as required and is now considered overdue. The incident remains under investigation.
Armed Robbery – The Smoke Shop
Location: 2505 N. State Road 7
An unknown male suspect entered the store, made a purchase, and became upset with the change he received. The suspect threw merchandise toward the clerk and armed himself with what appeared to be a hammer or wrench, threatening the victim before grabbing merchandise and fleeing. No injuries were reported.
Retail Theft – CVS
Location: 1200 N. State Road 7
Two female suspects entered the store, stole shampoo valued at $22.36, and left the area.
Harmful Communication to a Minor
Location: 4998 W. Atlantic Blvd. (7-Eleven area)
A male suspect approached a juvenile and attempted to lure her into nearby woods for sexual activity. The victim’s father wishes to pursue charges if the suspect is identified.
Stolen Vehicle – Automotive Shop
Location: AMA Automotive, 2010 NW 55 Ave., Margate
A victim left her 2015 gray Jeep Cherokee at the shop for repairs. The vehicle was later discovered missing and confirmed not to have been towed or repossessed. The vehicle was entered as stolen.
Stolen Vehicle Recovery
Location: 5520 Lakeside Dr.
A 2013 Honda Civic was taken by a known subject. The victim later recovered the vehicle in Wilton Manors. Notification procedures were completed.

Trespass Arrest
Location: 5000 Coconut Creek Pkwy.
Whitfield Anthony, 45, was arrested following a disturbance call behind the plaza.
Retail Theft – Walmart
Location: 5555 W. Atlantic Blvd.
James Chartoff, 62, stole clothing, USB cables, and a small rug. A Notice to Appear was issued.
Traffic Stop & Warrant Arrest
Location: 551 Kathy Ct.
Manuel Coj Coj, 41, was arrested after officers discovered his license was suspended and he had an active capias warrant.
Traffic Stop & Drug Arrest
Marlando Forrester, 27, was arrested after officers located 18 bags of cannabis totaling approximately 112 grams and a digital scale during a traffic stop. Charges include possession with intent to sell and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Trespassing Arrest – Walmart
Location: 5555 W. Atlantic Blvd.
Donald Bianculli, 62, was arrested for trespassing.
DUI Arrest
Location: 4900 W. Atlantic Blvd.
Shawn Martin Haynes, 56, was arrested for DUI and transported to jail after medical clearance.
Domestic Battery by Strangulation Arrest
Location: E. Palm Dr. area
Rudecy Mendes Da Silva Junior, 49, was arrested after placing the victim in a headlock and restricting her breathing. He was transported to jail following medical clearance.
Violation of Probation Arrest
Location: 3140 Holiday Springs Blvd., Margate
Amari Morrah, 22, was arrested for violation of probation.
Capias Arrest
Location: 6300 Southgate Blvd.
Scott Stiefeld, 66, was arrested on an active capias warrant.
Violation of Probation & Suspended License Arrest
Location: 100 Rock Island Rd.
Najah Rogers, 22, was arrested after a vehicle that had fled radar detection was later found with an expired tag. Rogers was also found to be in violation of probation and driving with a suspended license.
DUI Crash Arrest
Location: 100 Rock Island Rd.
Jamel Legiste, 37, was arrested after crashing into a police vehicle. No injuries were reported.
Dating Violence Battery Incident
Location: NW 60 Ave. area
Kenneth Francis, 39, allegedly placed his hand around the victim’s neck while attempting to take her phone before fleeing the scene. A notice of intent to charge was completed.
Domestic Violence Battery Arrest
Location: NW 64 Terrace area
Derrick Rivers, 59, was arrested for domestic battery.
Battery & Public Intoxication Arrest
Location: Kaye Stevens Park, 5825 Royal Palm Blvd.
Richard Muir, 61, was arrested after allegedly pushing a victim during a confrontation, causing the victim to fall and strike his head.
Harmful Communication to Minor Arrest
Location: 4900 block W. Atlantic Blvd. / Wawa
A suspect named Grant was located and arrested after attempting to lure a 14-year-old for sexual acts.
Retail Theft Arrest – Walmart Employee
Location: Walmart
Correy Evans, a store employee, was arrested after being observed removing trading cards from packages and concealing them in his backpack. Total loss was $159.94.
Capias Arrest – Serino Park
Location: Serino Park
Edilberto Garcia Arnanoz, 43, was arrested on a warrant for violation of probation related to battery charges.
Driving with Expired License – Multiple Prior Convictions
Location: 6300 Southgate Blvd.
Terrence Holland, 42, was arrested after a traffic stop revealed his license remained suspended.
Domestic Violence Battery Arrest
Location: NW 8 Street area
Andrew Palacios, 36, was arrested after allegedly striking the victim multiple times, causing facial injuries.
Resisting Arrest & Drug Possession Arrest
Location: Serino Park, 5600 SW 8 Ct.
Michael Eline, 46, was arrested for resisting without violence and possession of cocaine.
