Those who want to escape into the medieval world of Europe can join the Adrian Empire.
A chapter in Margate, the Duchy of Leicester, allows members to learn about life in Western Europe from 600 to 1600, daily life, and the many crafts and professions of the period.
According to Jesse Crocker, a leader in the Adrian Empire, members can learn various combat skills and how militaries operated during that time. They are participating in the Florida Renaissance Festival in Quiet Waters Park in Deerfield Beach.
They gather at various locations in Margate and often train at Quiet Waters Park, donning medieval armor and fighting until one yields.
“We go through training in the fighting techniques of the era,” said Crocker.
According to him, they can achieve higher ranks, learn about the era’s history., and have fun learning and participating in combat together.
The Adrian Empire is dedicated to studying and recreating medieval European culture. Members work to recreate the period’s arts, skills, and culture. According to the Adrian Empire website, they hold tournaments in mock combat, archery, and the arts.
The Florida Renaissance Festival takes place on Saturdays and Sundays through March 23. It offers various entertainment options, including music, dance, jousts, and encampments where visitors can learn about daily life in the Renaissance era.
