The City of Margate will hold the year’s first of three planned Household Hazardous Waste and Electronic Disposal events on Sunday, January 8, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Oriole Park, 7055 NW 1st Street.
Disposal of all items is a free-of-charge service provided by the city.
At this event, Margate residents will be able to drop off items deemed unfit to dispose of on regular garbage collection days. Examples of some of these items include:
- Household hazardous waste
- Biohazardous materials
- Medical waste
- Construction debris, including building material, rock, dirt, plaster, iron, or other like materials
- Liquid waste
- Flammable or explosive materials
- Radioactive materials
In addition, residents will have the opportunity to have three standard-sized boxes of documents shredded free of charge. Attendees must show proof of Margate residency to be eligible to participate in the waste and shredding event.
The city asks residents to place all items inside their vehicle’s trunk, hatch, or bed and not exit their cars. No items within the cabin of the vehicles will be disposed of.
