Margate residents can celebrate Independence Day with a full day of patriotic festivities on Saturday, July 4, featuring a parade, pool party, live music and a fireworks finale.
The city’s annual Fourth of July Extravaganza begins at 9 a.m. with the traditional Independence Day parade along Margate Boulevard. Residents are encouraged to arrive early to find a spot along the route as community groups, businesses and families showcase patriotic-themed floats and displays.
Those interested in participating in the parade can still register through the city’s website.
The celebration continues from 1 to 4 p.m. with a pool party at Calypso Cove, 6200 Royal Palm Blvd., where families can cool off and enjoy an afternoon of activities.
Evening festivities will take place from 5 to 9 p.m. at the corner of Margate Boulevard and State Road 7. The event will feature live entertainment by Smokin’ Renegade, food vendors and family-friendly activities leading up to the night’s highlight.
A fireworks display is scheduled to begin at 9 p.m., concluding the city’s daylong Independence Day celebration.
The Margate Community Redevelopment Agency is helping sponsor the annual event. Additional information, including parade registration details, is here.
