Through our joint effort with the Margate Police Department to share updates with residents, this is a summary of Margate’s crime and arrests through Aug. 27, 2022.
Auto Theft
An Auto theft was reported at 5810 Lakeside Dr on 08/26/22. The victim’s gray Mazda 3 was taken from the parking lot. The victim advised she was up to date on payments, and the vehicle was not towed.
Burglary Residence
A Burglary Residence was reported at 5541 SW 11th St. on 8/25/22. Two unknown males wearing facial coverings entered the victim’s home and stole a PS4 and a wallet containing credit cards.
Grand Theft
A Grand Theft was reported at Dollar Tree, 332 S. SR 7, on 08/14/22. Manager stated that an employee stole $2,419.16 from the business.
Theft
On 8/20/2022, an unknown subject stole two phones valued at $810 each from Verizon, 5600 W. Atlantic Blvd.
On 08/24/22, a Theft of a Catalytic Converter was reported on Banks Rd. The victim’s vehicle is a 2008 Hyundai Santa Fe.
On 08/27/22, Retail Theft was reported at Walgreens, 3000 N. St. Rd. 7. A male entered the store and removed approximately $1,023 worth of merchandise.
Welfare Fraud
On Aug. 23, in the 6100 block of NW 31st Street, Christina Anne Leffew, 35, was arrested on an active felony warrant for welfare fraud following a traffic stop in a school zone.
Arrests
Charles, Juditte, 41, was arrested on charges of Warrant at 2000 N. State Rd. 7 on 08/23/2022.
Torres, Seymon, 38, was arrested on charges of Warrant (sexual battery) on Aztec Blvd. on 08/24/2022.
Posada, Daniel Esteban was arrested on charges of Driv While Lic Suspended at 200 N. State Rd. 7 on 08/24/2022.
Brun, Richard Ruben, 22, was arrested on charges of carrying a concealed firearm on S. State Rd. 7 on 08/24/2022.
Rowe, Dameion, 43, was arrested on charges of Warrant (sexual battery) on NW 63rd Way on 08/26/2022.
Duroseau, Neslandine, 24, was arrested on charges of Warrant on W. Sample Rd. on 08/24/2022.
Robinson, Domonique Ashley, 28, was arrested on charges of Kidnap-false imprisonment on SW 7th St. on 08/27/2022.
