Incident Summaries
Failure to Return Rental Vehicle
Location: 1501 N. State Road 7 (Avis)
A woman rented a 2024 gray Kia Sorento on Oct. 8 and failed to return the vehicle by its due date of Oct. 25.
Vehicle Burglary (Overnight)
Location: SW 3rd Street / SW 66th Terrace
An unknown suspect entered an unlocked Jeep Grand Cherokee overnight. The same suspect was observed attempting to enter a Chevy Tahoe across the street. The suspect, described as a Black male wearing a gray hoodie and black pants, was seen holding a firearm. Nothing was taken. Prosecution was requested.
Burglary of Business
Location: McDivot’s, 3011 Rock Island Road
Time Frame: Dec. 17 at 4 p.m. to Dec. 18 at 8 a.m.
Unknown suspect(s) forced entry into a maintenance garage by prying open a garage door and stole lawn equipment, including an Echo straight-shaft weed trimmer ($400), an Echo straight-shaft trimmer ($600), and an Echo small chainsaw ($370).
Burglary of Conveyance
Location: South Carole Parkway
Following a civil dispute, a suspect entered a victim’s trailer without permission and removed a chop saw from the victim’s vehicle, temporarily depriving the victim of the property.
Theft
Location: Chipotle, 5671 W. Atlantic Blvd.
A victim reported the theft of a wallet and later discovered unauthorized charges at unknown locations.
Theft
Location: Jesse’s Xtreme Sports Bar Liquor Store, 5446 W. Atlantic Blvd.
A suspect previously confronted for theft returned to the store, grabbed two bottles of Remy Martin valued at $113.98, and fled on a black bicycle.
Battery
Location: Dollar General, 700 S. State Road 7
A suspect knocked a phone out of a store manager’s hand while she attempted to call police, causing a laceration. The suspect fled the scene on a scooter.
Felony Retail Theft
Location: Marshalls, 5461 W. Atlantic Blvd.
A suspect stole two handbags and multiple clothing items valued at $637.80. The suspect is known to store loss prevention and has prior theft cases.
Retail Theft
Location: Bath & Body Works, 5445 W. Atlantic Blvd.
Date/Time: Dec. 17 at 4:14 p.m.
Two suspects concealed 26 items valued at $630. Both are known to frequent the store.
Unlawful Discharge of a Firearm
Location: 5994 NW 1st Street
A caller reported a gunshot in the area. The suspect stated he accidentally discharged a round into the C-14 canal while attempting to clear his firearm. The firearm was recovered.
Suspicious Burglary in Progress
Location: McDivot’s, 3011 Rock Island Road
Time: 12:42 a.m.
Officers observed forced entry and a door propped open. An unknown male fled the scene. K-9 units responded but were unable to locate the suspect.

Davetta Rutherford, 46, charged with failure to return a rental vehicle.
Tre Clayton, 30, arrested for trespassing, theft, and violation of probation at 5555 W. Atlantic Blvd.
Paul Bendell, 36, arrested on a capias for violation of parole at 5380 SW 10th St.
Berek Sylvestre, 18, arrested for possession with intent to sell MDMA and possession of cannabis at 1300 N. State Road 7.
David Bouzaglou, 61, arrested for burglary of a conveyance.
William J. Rodriguez, 52, arrested for battery (dating violence).
Geather Jerry Bennett, 22, arrested for battery at Dollar General.
Xena Kay Ramirez, 28, arrested for felony retail theft at Marshalls.
Mark Hetzel, 52, arrested for stalking, domestic violence, and violation of probation following a chase in Jupiter.
Melissa Fritz, 47, arrested for domestic violence battery.
Christofer Lopez, 38, arrested for domestic battery.
Amy Grace Price, 46, arrested for domestic battery following a verbal altercation involving pepper spray.
Eric Hunter, 20, issued a Notice to Appear for unlawful discharge of a firearm.
Benjamin Cannizzo, arrested for domestic violence battery.
Vince Angelety, arrested for theft at Dollar General.
Kaon Raya, 40, arrested for domestic battery on a victim 65 or older.
Sharanda Heron, 36, arrested for retail theft and resisting arrest at Walmart.
