Margate Police responded to various calls through June 9. Below is a detailed account of the incidents handled by local law enforcement during this period.
A burglary was reported at Cube Smart Storage at 5500 NW 15th Street. The victim said that between May 31 and June 3, someone cut the lock on his unit and stole over $1,500 worth of power tools, primarily DeWalt brand.
A theft occurred at the Dollar Tree at 332 S State Road 7. A female suspect left the store without paying for items and fled in a Dodge U-Haul.
An aggravated battery took place at 100 Rock Island Road along the canal bank. A homeless victim was struck twice with a sledgehammer by a known subject. The victim was transported to North Broward Hospital, and CID responded to collect evidence.
An attempted vehicle burglary was reported at 5740 Lakeside Drive North around 6 a.m. Two males were seen pulling on door handles in the parking lot.
A burglary of a vehicle occurred on West River Drive. Officers followed up on several IDs found at the scene and made contact with the victim, who confirmed that her car had been broken into and that miscellaneous items had been stolen.
An assault and battery incident is under investigation at Sharkey’s Bar at 5889 Margate Boulevard. The victim, later treated at HCA Hospital, reported feeling dizzy and nauseated and believes she was drugged and assaulted. CID is following up.
A burglary of a vehicle was reported on NW 80th Terrace. The victim’s 2020 VW was left unlocked, and items, including a Star Wars backpack, a silver water bottle, tools, and miscellaneous property, were taken.
Arrests:
Ludger Bolivar, 33, was arrested at 499 N State Road 7 for driving with a suspended license, third or subsequent offense. He was transported to the BSO Main Jail.
Lori Koons was arrested at 100 N State Road 7 in a case involving traffic violations and narcotics.
Mark Hetzel, 71, was arrested at 6574 NW 4th Street on three active warrants out of BSO.
Shayn Hoyo, 25, was arrested at 4400 N State Road 7 for violation of probation.
Summer M. Crotts, 47, was arrested at 5150 Coconut Creek Parkway for violation of probation related to domestic violence battery.
Sean Evans, 49, was arrested for DUI at 8000 Royal Palm Boulevard.
Fedrain Bellevue, 20, was arrested on a warrant at 425 SW 64th Avenue.
Rodrigo Sanchez Pejovez, 25, was arrested for disorderly conduct at 628 S. State Road 7.
Moises Ventura, 56, was arrested at 5491 NW 15th Street for fleeing/eluding police, reckless driving, open carry of a firearm, and driving with a suspended license.
Mery De Los Angeles Gonzalez, 36, was arrested for domestic battery at a residence on SW 56th Avenue after allegedly grabbing a family member by the arm and neck and throwing her to the ground.
Two suspects were arrested at 1401 NW 80th Avenue (Townhome Clubhouse) for burglary of a conveyance. They were found with tools stolen from a 2023 gray Chevy Silverado. The tools were returned to the victim.
A juvenile was arrested on Margate Boulevard for assault and violation of probation after throwing a rock at a passerby. Although the rock did not strike the victim, she feared for her safety. The suspect was transported to JAC.
