The Margate Fourth of July parade brought residents, civic organizations, and city leaders together for a fun social event.
Family and friends lined Margate Boulevard to watch the parade and spend time together. The Margate Fire Department’s participation with a fire truck and an ambulance and the police department’s display of several vehicles added to the fun. Various civic groups and businesses walked the route. People created floats by decorating their cars and trucks, and some included groups of people as well.
“I thought this parade was great, and it was good to see people have fun together,” said Mayor Arlene Schwartz. She was riding in a car and threw candy to residents along the route.
“We were happy to see so many people from the community having a good time,” said Commissioner Tommy Ruzzano. He and his friends distributed ice pops.
Angel Perez enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, and her daughter, Desiree, 7, said she loved seeing a pony. “I wanted to take the pony home with me,” she said.
For Darlene Rodriguez, the parade was a great family event. “I love how it brought families together. I came with my husband, grandchildren, and my mother, and we all had fun,” she said.
Commissioner Anthony Caggiano came with his daughter, Sophia, and was excited about it. “This was great, and it was good to see people having fun,” he said.
After the parade, families could enjoy free hot dogs and chips.
