The Intensity Gymnastics Booster Club wants to flip your clutter into support for youth athletics, and they need your help to make it happen.
The nonprofit organization, which supports young gymnasts at Intensity Gymnastics, is hosting its first-ever community garage sale from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 4, at Intensity Gymnastics, located at 1690 Banks Road.
All proceeds from the sale will be used to help cover the costs of competitive gymnastics for local athletes. The Booster Club is currently accepting donations of gently used items, including clothing, shoes, toys, household goods, bikes, small furniture, electronics, and more, through May 1.
Donations can be dropped off Monday through Friday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the gym’s main entrance.
The Booster Club was formed a year and a half ago, sparked by the story of a gymnast’s mother who lost her job and was struggling to cover the expenses of the sport. What started as a small cookie fundraiser has since grown into a vital source of support for dozens of families.
Last season, funds raised by the Booster Club helped cover the cost of competition entry fees, which can exceed $100 per athlete in the program.
