Incumbent City Commissioners Antonio Arserio and Joanne Simone continue to have more cash than their challengers in the Seats 3 and 5 race.
Antonio Arserio, serving a one-year term as Mayor, continues to outraise Theresa Booker’s by a wide margin.
In July, Arserio’s campaign reported an additional $5,500 in donations from businesses.
These include $1,000 each from Aventura catering company Confection Connection, Inc., corporate gifting company Gift Scenario, Inc., developer Rez Hibiscus, LLC, real estate company Rez Ventures, LLC, and Rez Construction, LLC.
According to campaign finance reports, the campaign’s total donations through July are $93,261.
Arserio’s campaign reported spending an additional $2,190.59 in July, bringing his total expenditures to $14.406.22.
In July, Booker’s campaign raised an additional $900 from four individual donors. These donations ranged from $50 to $500. Her total to date is $3,446.
Booker’s campaign reported no expenditures in July, leaving the total amount spent at $1,298.44.
In the race for Seat 5, Simone leads her opponent Nina Culver in donations by a roughly 5-to-1 margin.
Simone’s reelection campaign raised an additional $2,800 in July, totaling $28,147. She received six donations in July ranging from $50 to $1,000.
She also reported spending an additional $525.60, bringing her total expenditures to $8,146.63.
Nina Culver’s campaign did not report any contributions in July, leaving her total donations at $5,483.77. However, she reported spending $19.93, bringing her total expenditures to $2,804.
In June, Culver reported 29 donations, ranging from $25 to $500. All these contributions were from individuals, except for a $100 donation from Jesse’s Extreme Sports Bar.
The election for both commission seats will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 8.
