Becca’s Closet is giving away scholarship money to soon-to-be high school graduates.
The volunteer-led nonprofit organization, which donates formal dresses to high school girls unable to attend school-sponsored dances without the organization’s help, is offering post-secondary scholarships to male and female high school seniors with financial need “who demonstrate exemplary service to their communities,” the nonprofit said in a written announcement.
The three scholarships being offered are The Becca’s Closet Spirit of Generosity Scholarship, The Becca’s Closet Involvement Scholarship for Becca’s Closet Involvement, and Becca’s Closet Drittel Family Scholarship.
The Becca’s Closet storefront is located in the Festival Marketplace, 2900 W. Sample Rd., Pompano Beach, and operates by appointment only.
Girls can request appointments through the Becca’s Closet website, beccascloset.org, or by calling 954-424-9999.
The organization said that dress donations in perfect condition and current styles are welcome, especially in plus sizes. Dresses can be dropped off at the main security desk at the Festival Marketplace.
Application deadline for the scholarships is March 31, 2022.
