Margate Crime Blotter: Man Arrested After Ramming Detective’s Vehicle During Traffic Stop

The Margate Police Department responded to various incidents and made multiple arrests between September 9 and 15, 2025.

Warrant Arrest

Location: 5790 Margate Blvd.

Details: Desuan Arline responded to the PD regarding a separate case. It was revealed he had an active capias for probation violation/battery. TOT BSO.

Warrant Arrest

Location: 416 Lakeside Dr., Apt. 130

Date/Time: 09/09/25 – 9:15 p.m.

Defendant: Nathaniel Cadet, B/M, 04/19/2001

Charges: Warrant DWLS x2. Bond $1,500.

Retail Theft/Resisting Arrest

Location: Walmart, 5555 W. Atlantic Blvd.

Defendant: Leriame Hernandez, B/F, 10/24/2005

Details: Hernandez was caught stealing clothing and personal items. She physically resisted arrest, kicking an officer in the chest. Charged with retail theft, resisting with and without violence.

Aggravated Battery on LEO/Fleeing

Location: 8090 NW 10th Ct.

Defendant: Mario O. Robinson, B/M, 06/26/2007

Details: During a traffic stop, Robinson rammed a detective’s vehicle in an attempt to flee. Charged with aggravated battery on LEO, fleeing/eluding, possession with intent to sell cannabis, resisting, and multiple traffic violations. TOT BSO.

Stolen Vehicle/Warrant Arrest

Location: 7120 Southgate Blvd.

Defendant: Shawn Rodriquez, B/M, 09/05/1986

Charges: Stolen vehicle, driving while license suspended, felony violation of probation. Arrest followed high-risk stop.

Domestic Battery Arrest

Location: SW 50th Ave.

Defendant: Stanley Jean Baptiste, B/M, 09/13/1981

Details: Struck victim twice after argument about infidelity.

Warrant Arrest

Location: 5434 W. Atlantic Blvd.

Defendant: Joslin Sylvestre, B/M, 08/10/1999

Details: Contacted while sleeping outside a business. Active warrant discovered.

Burglary Conveyance

Location: SW 7th Ct.

Details: 2018 Kia Optima broken into (unlocked). No items reported stolen. A B/M with dreads and a grey sweatshirt seen walking toward backyard.

Failure to Return U-Haul/Warrant Arrest

Location: 2100 Banks Rd.

Details: Driver arrested for failure to return U-Haul. Passenger had active warrant and was also arrested.

Battery on an Elderly Person

Location: E. River Dr.

Defendant: Ali Malik Washington, B/M, 12/02/2002

Details: Involved in altercation with another resident, struck a victim age 65+.

Trespass Arrest

Location: Walmart, 5555 W. Atlantic Blvd.

Defendant: Roger Nelson, W/M, 05/14/1967

Details: Found on property after prior trespass.

Theft

Location: 5504 W. Sample Rd.

Defendant: Ja’nieya Louis, B/F

Details: Stole approximately $800 worth of products from a beauty store, fled in a white Hyundai Sonata. Vehicle reportedly taken without permission.

Felony Theft Arrest

Location: Walmart, 5555 W. Atlantic Blvd.

Defendant: Benjamin Vernet, B/M, 01/28/2002

Details: Observed stealing merchandise via CCTV. Had three prior theft convictions.

Burglary Vehicle/Theft of Firearm

Location: NW 58th Ave.

Details: Between 9/12 at 9 p.m. and 9/13 at 10 a.m., victim’s Toyota 4-Runner was entered (no forced entry). A Glock .45 caliber firearm was stolen.

Aggravated Assault/Domestic Violence Arrest

Location: Lakewood Cir.

Defendant: Magaly Hernandez, F, arrested

Details: Pulled knife on victim during altercation. Incident witnessed by victim’s father.

Felony DUI Arrest

Location: Royal Palm Blvd. & N SR 7

Defendant: Gabriel Acosta Fernandez, W/M, 06/21/1990

Details: Found unconscious in vehicle. Officers breached window to remove him. Subsequent DUI investigation led to arrest.

Theft

Location: Publix, 7230 W. Atlantic Blvd.

Details: Victim left a $270 T-Mobile tablet unattended. Two males (16 and 18 years old) took it and left. Victim seeks prosecution.

Domestic Battery Arrest

Location: NW 20th St.

Date/Time: 09/14/25 – 11:18 p.m.

Defendant: Guy Ferdinand, B/M, 02/15/1977

Details: Involved in physical altercation, pushing victim several times.

DUI Arrest

Location: N SR 7 & W. Atlantic Blvd.

Details: Subject arrested for DUI.

Burglary Vehicle/Fraudulent Use of Credit Card

Location: NW 3rd Place

Date Range: Between 9/11/25 and 9/13/25

Details: Wallet stolen from vehicle. Debit card used five times in Pompano on 9/12.
