Monarch High School football continues its success with two summer championships and a commitment.
The Knights won at NC State and Duke University, and Kevin Powell, a 2023 graduate of Monarch, has officially announced his commitment to Dodge City Community College in Kansas.
Powell began his college career at the University of Kentucky and won a pair of District Championships with the Knights. He recorded 71 tackles during his two years on the varsity team, including 53 as a senior. Powell also picked off five passes and broke up 19 passes.
Dodge City went 6-4 a season ago and will open the 2025 season with a matchup against Tyler Junior College on August 23.
