If art is your passion, March is your opportunity to expand your artistic skills. We have a pair of nationally recognized artists coming to the Woodlands to teach artistic workshops using pastels, oils and acrylics. If you love to paint here’s a special opportunity for you.
Have you ever wanted to learn how to paint realistic children’s portraits in pastels?
Then join, award winning and Signature Member of the Pastel Society of America, Lisa Ober, as she conducts a two-day, hands-on workshop sharing her experience creating pastel portraits. Lisa’s step-by-step approach to teaching pastel portraiture insures that when you complete this workshop you will know how to develop a portrait from the first sketch through signing the painting and framing.
Whether you are a novice at creating pastel portraits or have a lifetime of experience you will gain a wealth of insights and ideas as Lisa shows you all the “tricks” of the trade she has mastered through thirty years of portrait painting. Every student will have the opportunity to complete a pastel portrait during the workshop with plenty of Lisa’s personal guidance and encouragement.
If you are a flower lover then put a little joy in your paint brush, and warmth in your heart as you join award winning artist Nancy Medina for a Floral Painting Workshop. Named one of today’s best floral and botanical artists by American Art Collector, Nancy is an instructor for the Dallas Arboretum whose paintings are collected around the world. Nancy teaches a loose, bright technique, and shares all her favorite tips and shortcuts for making flower paintings sing with color. This will be a fun 3-day Floral Workshop with 6 demonstrations by the teacher and plenty of hands-on instruction.
Open for beginners as well as those experienced in oils, and those who use water based oils or acrylics, you will learn to loosen your approach to painting flowers in arrangements and in garden settings. Painting together step by step each afternoon, students will take home 3 completed paintings. Nancy will share how to create brilliant color on a transparent background, and methods for making your flowers look authentic and beautiful.
Other workshops will include a three-day realistic still-life workshop with Lisa Ober and a one-day painting plein air Florals in the Woodlands with Nancy Medina. All of the workshops will run March 7 through March 18th.
