Last November, representatives from Waste Management attended our homeowners association meeting and answered questions from members of the section’s boards.
The consensus was that most were satisfied with their service, however there were a few instances that were reported where trash or yard waste had not been picked up. It was those instances that Waste Management asks residents to contact customer service and a truck would be called out. Waste Management heavily monitors all routes with GPS, as well as equips each vehicle with a camera and will make sure that homes are not overlooked in the future.
It you do not get your trash or recycling picked up, please contact 866-684-3142 and speak to a customer service representative.
Also, don’t forget to give some space between your garbage and recycling cart to keep them from being left toppled over or lying in the street. WM explained that because of the mechanical arm used on the truck, if the carts are being placed too close together, the second pickup of the day will cause the first cart to be pushed aside to gain access.
Keep in mind that each year between October 1 – January 1, homeowners have the option of decreasing the size of their cans.
Want a bigger can? You can upgrade it at anytime throughout the year! This is good news for those that have increased their recycling. Just call They will give you a confirmation number and have you place old cart on curb and exchange it for the new size. You may only make changes one time only.
Please remember, once garbage is picked up, cans must not be stored in front of your garage. They must be stored out of sight.
