Margate Crime Update: Thieves Ransack Margate Storage Unit, Steal Thousands in Appliances and Fixtures

Margate Police responded to various calls through June 2. Below is a detailed account of the incidents handled by local law enforcement during this period.

Glock Stolen from Unlocked Truck in Burglary at Toscana Lane

Burglary – Conveyance
Location: 3045 Toscana Lane
Time: Between May 27 at 11 p.m. and May 28 at 11:45 a.m.
Unknown subject(s) entered an unlocked Honda Ridgeline and stole a Glock 19x from the center console.

Auto Theft
Location: ___ NW 79th Ave
Time: Between May 24 and May 28
A red 2025 Nissan Sentra was stolen. The victim reported that a key fob had been left inside the vehicle.

Burglary – Storage Unit
Location: 5500 NW 15th St
Unknown subject(s) broke into a storage unit and stole:

• 6 LG refrigerators ($2,000 each)

• 20 Aqua Source toilet bowls ($150–$200 each)

• 4 Samsung gas stoves ($1,500 each)

• 4 Star Fire tires ($90 each)

• 1 pallet of decorated tiles (unknown value)

Battery
Location: Wendy’s (rear area)
Several Margate Middle School female students were involved in a fight. One victim was transported to the hospital. Parents and school resource officers were notified.

Violation of Injunction
Location: ___ E. River Dr
Dwain Jones made contact with a female protected by an active court order.

Domestic Violence – Aggravated Battery
Location: ___ SW 49th Way
Narmyode Lamour struck a female in the head with a vase during an argument.

Grand Theft
Location: Verizon, 5600 W Atlantic Blvd
A male subject stole three iPhone 16s and fled on foot. He was later picked up by an acquaintance, but fled again during a traffic stop. Search efforts were unsuccessful.

Burglary – Vehicle
Location: ___ SW 10th Ct
Time: Between 9 and 9:40 p.m.
The victim discovered the rear passenger door and trunk open on his vehicle.

Theft
Location: ___ SW 7th St
A robotic lawn mower valued at $2,448 was stolen from a yard by an unknown male in a white Ford F-350 at approximately 5:18 p.m.

Theft – Copper Wire
Location: 3011 Rock Island Rd
Copper wire was stolen overnight from a T-Mobile meter box. An alarm alerted staff at 3:41 a.m. indicating a transformer failure.

Aggravated Child Abuse
Location: ___ Lakeside Drive N
Tony Thomas allegedly punched a juvenile female in the mouth in November 2024, knocking out a tooth. The incident was reported on May 31, 2025. A NIC was completed.

Burglary – Structure
Location: Extra Space Storage, 1880 N. SR 7
Two motorcycles (without engines) were stolen. Both were valued at approximately $700.

Burglary
Location: 3011 N Rock Island Rd
Unknown suspect(s) caused $10,000 in damage and stole over $1,000 in copper. The crime occurred overnight. CSI processed the scene.

Location: W. Atlantic Blvd
Josalyn Brown (DOB 9/15/1984) was stopped for driving the wrong way. BAC tested at .220% and .198%.
