Correction to video – the WHOA does not operate under Section 720
By: Sharon Aron Baron
A resident was video taping the tumultuous WHOA meeting in May, thanks to the foresight of Carolyn Chin who didn’t tape the whole thing but was able to record a few parts of it.
As you may have read, I was served with a cease and desist notice telling me that I must take down the site immediately…that I am tarnishing the distinctive quality of the association’s trade name and injuring its reputation.
Since that time, I found out that this wasn’t the actions of our WHOA board as a whole, but of one person in particular: Our WHOA President.
Our WHOA President, who mistakenly believed our attorney at Becker & Poliakoff was on retainer and asked him to write this letter, didn’t know that each time she contacts our attorney for legal work, it costs you and I money.
Nevertheless, the videos taken with a cellphone camera only shows some portions of the meeting. That’s all that were recorded.
Its important to watch and remember how residents were not allowed to speak at this meeting. On other meetings, residents have been allowed to speak.
