North Broward Prep’s Yoel Tejada Jr. is having an incredible start to the postseason.
After leading his team to a State Championship this year, Tejada is off to a historic start in the playoffs. The senior is hitting .500 through four games with three home runs and 11 RBIs. Tejada hit a grand slam, walk-off home run, and a three-run homer so far and also picked up the win in the Eagles Regional Quarterfinal game against Coral Springs Charter.
“I’m a competitive guy, and there’s nothing more I want to do than win,” said Tejada. “I hate losing more than I like to win because that feeling when you lose is something that doesn’t go away right away especially competing with my team for States.”
NBP is only one win away from heading to Fort Myers for a second consecutive season. The Eagles are 20-9 this season and will play Westminister Christian in the Regional Final on Tuesday, May 17, at 3:30 p.m.
