Students at Monarch High School are participating in National Theatre in Our Schools Month (TIOS) to highlight the importance of theatre education.
According to Theatre Director Tatiana Ahlbum, International Thespian Society (ITS) Troupe 7219 members are leading the charge, emphasizing the need for increased access to quality theatre programs as schools continue adapting post-pandemic.
To spread awareness, students are hosting a spirit week, mentoring the Lyons Creek Middle School Drama Club, and launching a social media campaign. The month-long advocacy effort will culminate in the Seniors and Superiors Showcase on Friday, March 14 at 6 p.m., celebrating senior performers and award-winning students.
