There’s plenty of delicious food in Margate. Now, the city has some hardware to prove it.
A social media video series showcasing some of Margate’s best restaurants took home a prestigious Bronze Telly Award in the food and beverage category this month. The city won for “It’s Margate Delish,” which aims to draw attention to Margate as a worthy “foodie” destination in South Florida and beyond.
Each Margate Delish episode is introduced by a city official—Commissioner Arlene Schwartz helmed the most recent edition—and highlights the uniqueness of a featured restaurant. To date, episodes have brought viewers to Kouyou Buffet, Jasmine Thai & Sushi, Lester’s Diner, La Bamba, Sr. Ceviche, La Pizzeria, Toasted Café, and It’s All Greek to Me, according to the city.
Spearheaded by the Margate Community Redevelopment Agency, the series was launched in 2021 to highlight the range of culinary treats offered in Margate, focusing on the city’s redevelopment district.
“This entertaining video series highlights some of our best restaurants to attract more diners and raise the overall awareness of the MCRA’s mission,” said MCRA Board Chair Tommy Ruzzano.
Established in 1979, The Telly Awards received over 11,000 entries from all over the world this year, considering video and television content available on all types of screens.
Entrants were judged by The Telly Awards Judging Council—an industry body of over 200 leading experts, including advertising agencies, production companies, and major television networks.
Other winners included Viacom, Warner Bros., Sony Music Entertainment, Microsoft, ESPN, and PBS Digital Studios.
