Margate’s Independence Day Parade. {City of Margate}
The City of Margate will celebrate Independence Day with a full day of activities on July 4, featuring a parade, pool party, live entertainment and a fireworks display commemorating America’s 250th anniversary.
The festivities begin at 9 a.m. with the city’s annual Fourth of July parade along Margate Boulevard, traveling from Northwest 76th Avenue east to Northwest 58th Avenue at the Clock Tower. Following the parade, attendees can enjoy complimentary refreshments, including hot dogs, chips and soda.
Motorists should be aware that Rock Island Road between Atlantic Boulevard and Northwest 18th Street will be closed beginning at 9 a.m. until the parade concludes.
The celebration continues from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. with a Fourth of July pool party at Calypso Cove Waterpark, 6200 Royal Palm Blvd. The event will feature a DJ and a caricature artist. Regular paid admission to the waterpark is required.
Beginning at 5 p.m., residents and visitors can enjoy live music and bounce houses at the northwest corner of Margate Boulevard and State Road 7.
The day concludes with a 15-minute fireworks show beginning promptly at 9 p.m.
