The Margate Fire Department is in the process of receiving a new fire truck and is expected to take full delivery in early 2026.
The new fire truck will be located at Station 18 and will replace an older one. It has been custom-built and purchased by Margate for about $800,000 from E-One, a company based in Ocala, Florida, that specializes in manufacturing fire apparatus.
The truck is known as a mid-mount pumper because the pump panel that the driver engineer works at during a fire is located in the middle of the truck. It will contain updated technology, including an electronic Jaws of Life and other new features, according to Deputy Fire Chief Danny Rodriguez.
Fire trucks must be custom-built to each department’s specifications. “We want our firefighters to know where everything is on the truck when it arrives. We will have a ceremony when the new truck comes to Station 18,” said Rodriguez.
The fire department will also receive a new ladder truck and rescue vehicles later in 2026, according to Rodriguez.
