Margate Police responded to various calls through May 19. Below is a detailed account of the incidents handled by local law enforcement during this period.
Violation of Protection Order
S. Lakewood Circle – Darryl Hastey was arrested on April 28 after returning to a residence in violation of a served protection order. He was turned over to the Broward Sheriff’s Office.
Residential Burglary
Toscana Lane East – Two handguns and a laptop were reported stolen from an apartment. No suspect or time of incident was identified.
Burglary Conveyance
NW 62nd Avenue – Between 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m., an unlocked black pickup truck was entered, and the victim’s wallet was stolen. A credit card was later used in Coral Springs.

1880 N. State Road 7 (Extra Space Storage) – Overnight theft captured on surveillance showed a Latin male suspect removing over $5,000 in tools from the bed of a pickup truck.
Hit and Run / VOP Arrest
7100 W. Atlantic Blvd. – Jalen Trey Petin, 32, was arrested after being involved in two traffic crashes, including a hit-and-run, causing an estimated $10,000 in damage.
Battery / Dating Violence Arrest
5485 W. Atlantic Blvd. (Cumberland Farms) – Alexandro Casius was arrested after being identified by a passerby who saw him choking a female victim.
Trespass
Pinewalk Drive – A resident reported her roommate broke into her locked bedroom to retrieve a router, damaging the door.
Warrant / Driving with Suspended License (DWLS)
500 Banks Road – Rolander Lucien, 52, was arrested for an outstanding warrant and DWLS (third or subsequent offense).
Retail Theft
1200 N. State Road 7 – Lindsey Compton, 38, was issued a notice to appear for misdemeanor theft.
Trespass and Misuse of 911
5555 W. Atlantic Blvd. – Breon Williams, 38, was arrested for trespassing after warning and misuse of emergency services.
Grand Theft Auto
1401 NW 80th Ave. – A black 2024 Honda Accord was stolen overnight from the Town Homes of Oriole Gardens Clubhouse.
Burglary Conveyance and Attempts
3295 Pinewalk Drive N – Between May 16 and 17, two vehicles had windows shattered and one vehicle was entered. Nothing was reported missing.
Battery / Domestic Violence
SW 64th Terrace – Monica Metezier, 26, was arrested after scratching the victim, taking his keys, and slashing his tires during a domestic dispute.
Traffic Stop / Narcotics Arrest
400 N. State Road 7 – Michael McDonald, 34, was arrested for multiple traffic offenses. Passenger Phillip Ford, 46, was arrested for trafficking and possession of crack cocaine.
Burglary Conveyance
7300 Lake Circle Dr. – A vehicle’s window was shattered, and a black diaper bag containing children’s clothes was stolen.
Burglary Conveyance
7210 Lake Circle Dr. – The victim found his vehicle’s door tampered with and open. Nothing was stolen.
Warrant and Resisting Arrest
1527 NW 80th Ave – Amani Bent, 19, was arrested on a felony warrant. Jordan Robinson, 21, was also arrested for resisting after giving a false name.
Burglary Conveyance
Winfield Blvd. – A 2022 Acura ILX was found with a shattered window caused by a cinder block. The trunk was rummaged through, but nothing was stolen.
Battery / Domestic Violence
NW 62nd Way – Donna Casey was arrested after striking the victim multiple times during a domestic dispute.
Theft
3201 N. State Road 7 (Broward Meat and Fish) – A white male suspect stole two packages of meat valued at $30.
Burglary / Business
5109 Coconut Creek Parkway – Unknown suspects drilled through a lock to steal hundreds of feet of copper wiring from a meter room.
Felony Petit Theft Arrest
Walmart, 5555 W. Atlantic Blvd. – Elroy Mannelus, 43, was arrested after working with two unidentified individuals to steal a generator. Mannelus had two prior grand theft convictions.
