The Margate Police Department responded to various incidents and made multiple arrests between December 2 and December 8, 2025.
Robbery
Robbery – Strong-Armed
5555 W. Atlantic Blvd
A 35–45-year-old Black male, about 5’10” with a medium build, wearing black shorts and a black tank top, allegedly body-slammed a victim who had picked up a bike blown over by the wind outside Walmart. The suspect accused the victim of attempting to steal the bike, took $25 from his pocket, and fled. The victim declined prosecution.

Elijah Williams, B/M, 11/13/96, climbed into a food vendor booth, slapped the vendor, and struck the fair manager who tried to help detain him. Williams also spit on an officer while being taken into custody.

W/F Rosa Antunez Marquez, 5/27/06, struck the victim against his will while at the Margate Fair.

Property & Theft Crimes
Property Damage (Dog Shooting)
5710 Lakeside Dr.
A subject reported shooting a loose, aggressive dog he said attacked him and his 17-month-old daughter. The owner was notified and Animal Control responded.
Grand Theft / Fraudulent ID / Possession of Cocaine – Arrest
Truist Bank, 7282 W. Atlantic Blvd
Defendant: Adam Windisch, W/M, 03/15/1973, attempted to use a fake ID to withdraw over $10,000.

Walgreens, 3000 N. SR 7
Around 12 p.m. on 12/4/25, an unknown Black male stole approximately $1,000 worth of merchandise.

Possession of Fentanyl & Paraphernalia – Arrest

Defendant: B/M Travis Holmes, 12/7/87, stopped for a bicycle violation.

Firearm & Probation Violations – Arrests
5400 W. Atlantic Blvd | 12/07/25 – 4:45 a.m.
• Juvenile 1: Jeffery Higgs, DOB 07/24/08 – Carrying a concealed firearm, unlawful possession of a firearm by a minor, resisting arrest, grand theft firearm.
• Juvenile 2: __________________ – Carrying a concealed firearm, unlawful possession of a firearm by a minor.
• Juvenile 3: __________________ – Violation of juvenile probation (curfew).
• Defendant 4: __________________ – Carrying a concealed firearm.
Officers stopped a group riding electric scooters with no lights. During the investigation, one subject fled but was quickly detained. Multiple firearms were recovered.

B/M Michael Whitfield, 11/8/80 (homeless), caused a disturbance inside the store while carrying a screwdriver. Transported to Imperial Pointe.
Disorderly Intoxication – Arrest
Shell Gas Station, 2485 N. SR 7
W/M James Scott Pelug, 2/23/71, was highly intoxicated and yelling racial slurs at patrons.
