
Margate Police {Aiden Palmer}
The Margate Police Department responded to various incidents and made multiple arrests between November 18 and 24, 2025.
Theft – Verizon
5600 W. Atlantic Blvd
A white male with a beard and tattoos entered the store on Nov. 15 and stole a Nintendo Switch and games valued at $410. The victim desires prosecution.
Petit Theft – Marshalls
5461 W. Atlantic Blvd
Defendant: Jethro Lauriston, B/M, 03/31/1997
Lauriston concealed $95.95 worth of merchandise in a personal bag and passed all points of sale. He was stopped behind 550 N. SR 7. Items were recovered and returned. The victim desires prosecution.
Theft/Warrant Arrest – Dollar General
700 S. State Road 7
Offender: Sammie Wells, 11/08/1998
Wells was identified in a show-up after stealing $27.75 in merchandise and was found to have three full-extradition warrants out of Palm Beach County. He was arrested without incident.
Theft – Dollar General
5000 Coconut Creek Pkwy
An unknown male stole $47 worth of baby products and fled in a U-Haul truck with an unidentified driver. BSO later stopped the U-Haul and detained two subjects as part of the investigation.
Commercial Burglary Attempt – Sky World Smoke Shop
7460 Royal Palm Blvd
A male wearing black shorts, a ski mask, and sneakers smashed the front glass with a suitcase but could not enter due to window bars. He fled westbound on foot.
Vehicle Burglary – Arbor View Apartments
3100 N. SR 7
An unknown subject entered an unlocked black Toyota sedan between 10 a.m. and 11 p.m., stealing three iPhone chargers valued at $69. The victim desires prosecution.
Attempted Vehicle Burglary – SW 62nd Way
A victim returned home to see a black SUV leaving the area. Video showed a thin white male attempting to enter three vehicles. The suspect was later apprehended inside a stolen vehicle linked to another case. CID responded.
Vehicle Burglary – SW 63rd Terrace
On Nov. 24, around 1 a.m., a male exited an SUV and entered the victim’s unlocked BMW, stealing loose change and two iPhone chargers.
Theft of Cameras – 777 S. State Road 7
Two cameras were stolen from trees covering the southwest corner of the property. Footage showed a white male on a blue bicycle taking one camera. Total loss: $350. Victim desires prosecution.
Update: Between Nov. 23–24, an additional 36 concrete-pole lights ($825 each) and metal wires from three flagpoles ($2,000 each) were reported stolen. Total updated loss: $35,700.
BATTERIES & DOMESTIC INCIDENTS
Felony Battery – SW 77th Ave
Defendant: Olga Manjarres, 11/14/1979
Manjarres was arrested after jumping on the victim and pressing her forearm against his throat. Due to three prior battery convictions, the charge was enhanced to a felony.
Simple Battery – SW 7th St
Defendant: Sylvio Louisjean, M, 05/09/1988
Domestic Battery – NW 66th Ave
Defendant: Berline Derival, F, 04/07/1994
Derival punched the victim after finding him with another female. She fled but was later located and arrested for dating violence.
Indecent Exposure – NW 24th Ct
Suspect: Frankie Fernandez
Fernandez exposed himself and masturbated in front of the victim. A NIC was filed for indecent exposure of sexual organs (1st offense).
Domestic Violence NIC – W. Buena Vista Drive
Subject: Edmond Connell Reid, M, 06/17/1976
Reid allegedly spit in the victim’s face. He was gone on arrival.
Domestic Battery Arrest – SW 2nd Ct
Defendant: Kevin Derilus, 10/20/1989
Derilus threw water and spit on the victim during a verbal dispute. He was arrested.

NARCOTICS & DUI
Possession of Psilocybin – Winfield Blvd
Defendant: Antonio Torres-Rios, M, 11/04/2009
Stopped for being in a park after dark and a scooter light violation, Torres-Rios admitted to cannabis possession. Officers located 9.25 grams of mushrooms.
Narcotics Arrest – Coconut Creek Pkwy
Defendant: Kristina Fretz, F, 01/28/1991
Fretz was found in possession of cocaine, cannabis, and other controlled substances following a traffic stop.
DUI Arrest – SW 7th Street
Defendant: Bernard Landers, 08/29/1990
Landers drove on the wrong side of the road and struck another vehicle. He became combative, refused all testing, and was arrested for DUI-related charges and resisting.
OTHER CRIMES / INCIDENTS
L&P Arrest / Graffiti – 1855 N. State Road 7
Subject: Tyler Cunningham, M, 10/11/1998
Cunningham was found with spray paint and art materials in an area with fresh graffiti marked “ER” and “ERER.” He declined to discuss the incidents.
Capias Arrest – Mears Parkway
Defendant: Kevin Banning, M, 01/12/1968
Arrested on a warrant for cocaine possession.
Vehicle Theft / Felony Vehicle – Seaton Villas Motel
1311 N. State Road 7
A stolen vehicle was located and stopped. Driver Eugene Young was detained but released after WPBPD confirmed he was not the suspect. Vehicle was towed and held.
Criminal Mischief – Pinewalk Dr North
A 2025 Ford F-150’s rear window was smashed with a rock. Damage: $1,400.
Criminal Mischief – NW 80th Ave
Victim’s bedroom window was smashed. Damage: $100. Ex-boyfriend had threatened damage via text the night prior.
Burglary Residence Arrest – Margate Blvd
Subject: Rashaad Gerard Tauriac, M, 10/30/1987
Tauriac entered a residence, ate food from the fridge, and remained inside. A Baker Act accompanied the arrest paperwork.
Warrant Arrest – Coconut Creek Pkwy & N. State Road 7
Defendant: Ricardo Barrera, 11/27/1978
A Dodge Ram tag check revealed a federal warrant for heroin possession out of Texas. Barrera was taken into custody.
Stolen Vehicle / Crash – Flores Way
A 2020 Volvo stolen from a residence later crashed into a home in North Lauderdale.
Defendant: Bryan Clark, M, 08/23/2007
Clark was arrested and found with property tied to vehicle burglaries. CID responded.
