The Margate Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) is beginning preliminary work to develop the City Center.
During the January 14 meeting, the CRA Executive Director, Cale Curtis, announced that the CRA had signed a $200,000 contract with R2R Demolition to demolish the old Country Haven motel, Motion Elevator, a triplex apartment building, and the former Prince of Peace church building. These buildings occupy land within the City Center plan.
CRA chair Anthony Caggiano said he was pleased that progress is being made on the project. “I am excited because I want to see development begin on the City Center,” he said.
Also, the CRA approved two change orders for the Margate Boulevard crosswalk and landscape improvements project, totaling $36,012, with FG Construction: one for $12,731 and one for $24,281.
