Get ready to paint the town red, white, and blue! Margate’s 4th of July Extravaganza promises a star-spangled day of fun.
The City of Margate and the Margate Community Redevelopment Agency (MCRA) are gearing up for their annual extravaganza, an all-day event filled with activities for all ages. The celebration will take place on Thursday, July 4, at Margate Boulevard and 441.
Parade Kicks Off the Day
The festivities will begin with a parade at 9:00 a.m. The parade will travel eastbound along Margate Boulevard from 76th Avenue to State Road 7, showcasing a vibrant red, white, and blue display. Participants will include private businesses, non-profit organizations, and local families. Awards will be given in several categories, and the MCRA will provide post-parade refreshments and bounce houses.
Calypso Cove Pool Party
From 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., the City of Margate Parks and Recreation Department will host a pool party at Calypso Cove, the city’s water park at 6200 Royal Palm Boulevard. The event will feature live music from a steel drum band, adding a tropical flair to the Independence Day celebration. Standard admission fees apply.
Evening Extravaganza with Live Music and Food Trucks
The 4th of July Extravaganza will continue from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the northwest corner of Margate Boulevard and State Road 7. Attendees can enjoy a variety of food trucks and obstacle courses. The VAM Band is set to perform at 6:00 p.m., providing live entertainment leading up to the grand finale.
Fireworks Display
The day will conclude with a spectacular fireworks display at 9:00 p.m., lighting up the night sky over Margate.
Road Closures
Several road closures will be in effect to ensure the safety and smooth operation of the event:
- 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.: Eastbound lanes of Margate Boulevard from 76th Avenue to SR 7
- 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.: Margate Boulevard, from the Clock Tower to SR 7
- 7:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.: SR 7, from Atlantic Boulevard to Coconut Creek Parkway
