Description of Incident:
The customer walking out of a Radio Shack on a recent evening carrying a brand new laptop computer aroused no suspicion amongst his fellow customers. He wasn’t wearing a mask or carrying a weapon. He wasn’t even walking fast. But surveillance video shows how he swiped the computer from behind a desk and left the store, seemingly without a care.
Broward Sheriff’s Office detectives are releasing the video with the hope that someone recognizes and identifies the nonchalant criminal. The incident happened at 7:45 p.m. April 6 at 2904 N. State Road 7 in Lauderdale Lakes. The man walked in, expressed interest in buying two laptops, and when an employee went to retrieve the second one, the man stole the first, an HP Pavilion G6 laptop, from behind the desk.
Anyone who recognizes this suspect can contact BSO Detective Kevin Nitsch at (954) 497-1646 or report information anonymously to Crime Stoppers of Broward County at (954) 493-TIPS (8477) or online at www.browardcrimestoppers.org.
