Chabad of Margate is inviting the community to observe the Jewish High Holidays with services, a traditional dinner, and a family-friendly gathering in the park.
The observances begin Friday, Sept. 11, with Rosh Hashanah services at 7 p.m., followed by a community dinner at 7:30 p.m. The three-course brisket dinner will feature traditional holiday foods and customs as attendees welcome the Jewish New Year together.
Registration for the dinner is required at ChabadMargate.org/dinner.
Rosh Hashanah services will continue at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 12, followed by Kiddush. Services will also be held at 10 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 13, with the sounding of the shofar at 11:30 a.m. and Kiddush afterward.
Later that day, Chabad will host “Shofar in the Park,” an interactive, family-friendly Rosh Hashanah experience at 5 p.m. at Coral Gate Park, 5650 NW 29th St. in Margate.
Yom Kippur observances will begin Sunday, Sept. 20, with Kol Nidrei at 7:15 p.m. Services resume at 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 21. The Yizkor memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m., followed by the Neilah closing service at 6:30 p.m. The fast ends at 7:53 p.m., with a break-fast buffet scheduled for 8 p.m.
Except for the park gathering, events will take place at Chabad of Margate, 5700 Horizons Lane. No affiliation is necessary.
