Inna Kotlar noticed that her 11-year-old daughter and her friends had trouble getting together for traditional playtime.
After noticing children having trouble getting together for playtime, she created a business called Konekt Club, which provides this in a lightly supervised environment.
Located at 1723 North State Road 7 in Margate, Konekt Club is where children can come after school to enjoy kid-friendly activities and play with others in a lightly supervised environment.
Kotlar said Konekt Club caters to children aged 6-15, offering arts and crafts, board games, and a space for kids to play, create, and socialize.
“We have a hands-on approach to fun activities. I saw a need for a place for kids to come and socialize together,” said Kotlar.
Paula Marin, who works with the school’s children, has taught at small schools and believes children can learn through creative activities. “This is a place where children can express themselves and connect with other children,” said Marin.
Konekt offers a 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. time slot Monday through Thursday, which is oriented toward homeschooling children. It also offers a 2:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. time slot Monday through Thursday. It is open for private events on Fridays and Saturdays.
Konekt Club will have a grand opening celebration on Thursday, August 29, at noon.
