Put the pedal to the metal and head to the Hot Rods and Hot Dogs car show in Coconut Creek this weekend.
Fun for the whole family, the event showcases classic and exotic cars and provides live entertainment and a variety of food trucks.
Held on Saturday, July 2, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Coconut Creek Community Center, the show is free for spectators. All makes and models of cars are welcome; vehicle registration for the show is $25, and organizers will award trophies to forty top vehicles and pick the best one.
The food vendors include a hot dog stand, Italian ice, a pizza truck, and coffee and desserts. Planet Lulu’s four-piece band will perform some rock ballads and sunshine pop. The first 250 kids to stop by the Coconut Creek Police tent gets a free toy car.
The city of Coconut Creek expects 75 to 100 cars to participate.
The event is weather permitted. Coconut Creek Community Center is located at 1100 Lyons Road.
