There was plenty of high school football Friday night in Coconut Creek, with two teams picking up wins while another scored five touchdowns in their loss.
Monarch
In their second game in four days, the Monarch High School football team won again, defeating McArthur High School 42-13.
The Knights scored 104 points in their two games this week and moved to 6-1 on the season. A.J. Hairston threw for 300 yards and added four touchdown passes. Willie. Reed Fran for 200 yards rushing and had two scores, while Joshua Pena, Jessie Fields, Jabari Brady, and Walter Parrish caught touchdown passes.
Next, Monarch will have a bye before they face off against St. Thomas Aquinas High School on Wednesday, Oct. 20. The Raiders are 6-0 this year and rank fifth best in the nation, having scored 215 points this season.
Coconut Creek
After dropping their last three games, the Coconut Creek High School varsity football team picked up a statement win over Fort Lauderdale High School.
The Cougars won 42-7 to hand the Flying L’s only their second season loss. Coconut Creek moved to 3-3 and scored the second-most points in a game this season. They reached 50 in their opening win against Southeast High School.

Next, Coconut Creek will have five days to prepare for West Boca Rotan Community High School in their next game on Thursday, Oct. 13, at 6:30 p.’m. The Bulls are 4-2 this year and are coming off a 21-17 victory over Deerfield Beach High School in their last game.
North Broward Prep
North Broward Prep fell in a tough battle against Saint Andrew’s 52-35, but running back Deandre Desinor had an incredible game.
He ran the ball 14 times for 165 yards and scored three rushing touchdowns. He also added a 95-yard kickoff return for a score. The four-star recruit, who has more than half a dozen offers to play Division I football, has now scored ten touchdowns despite missing a game earlier this year. Anthony Maestre added NBP’s other score.
The Eagles are now 3-3 this season and will head on the road for their next game against Calvary Christian Academy on Friday, Oct. 14, at 7 p.m. They come in with a record of 6-1 and have won five straight.
