The cloudy skies parted briefly while the Parent Group in the Woodlands had an “End of the School Year” pool party.
The Woodlands Parent Group has events for the children every few months. They celebrated the end of the school year with a pool party at the Section Five Clubhouse this month.
It almost looked like the event would be rained out, but luckily the sun came out long enough for the kids to have a great time swimming. Mayor Beth Talabisco even came by to greet moms and children.
With more younger families moving into the Woodlands, the Parent Group is now up to 63 sets of parents and over 100 children. Besides the annual Halloween and Holiday parties, they have added a yearly Egg Hunt in April.
The most important part of the Parent Group isn’t necessarily the parties but the information the group exchanges about area schools. Since Broward County offers school choice, many parents are reassigning their children to their chosen public schools.
In addition to public schools, our children attend magnet programs, charter schools, private schools, religious schools,s and some even homeschool. Many of our residents even carpool together, which saves time and gas.
