Emerge Broward is hosting a volunteer event, “Walks and Wags,” at the UFAR Animal Rescue in Margate.
Held on Saturday, June 29, from 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., this event is slated to be an afternoon of community service, bringing together young professionals and animal lovers to support a noble cause.
Emerge Broward, a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering young professionals through leadership and community engagement, has partnered with United for Animals Rescue (UFAR) for this special volunteer day.
UFAR is a no-kill shelter that provides a safe haven for over 300 cats and 25 dogs, many of whom have been abandoned or rescued from dire situations. In the past year alone, UFAR has taken in approximately 800 animals and facilitated the adoption of 700, demonstrating their unwavering commitment to animal welfare.
Participants in the “Walks and Wags” event can assist with various tasks at the shelter, including facility cleanup, dog walking, and providing much-needed tender loving care to the resident cats.
This hands-on experience will also include a chance to learn more about UFAR’s mission and operations, offering a deeper understanding of the critical work to support these animals.
Register Here. Volunteers are encouraged to arrive 10-15 minutes early to complete the necessary waiver forms and to meet the UFAR team.
Participants should wear comfortable clothing and closed-toe shoes to ensure safety and comfort while working with the animals. Those with pet allergies are advised to plan accordingly to manage their sensitivities while participating.
UFAR Animal Rescue is located at 364 South State Road 7, Margate, FL 33068
