They didn’t just want one, two or three mangos – they literally stripped one Woodlands homeowner’s tree bare.
Ilene Michelson noticed her entire tree was missing its fruit when she went to pick some for her granddaughter on Tuesday, as it’s her favorite fruit, she said. She was shocked to find almost every piece missing. She figured someone must have stolen it on Monday as she has just picked some to eat the day before.
Luckily for Ilene and her husband Stuart, they had security cameras and decided to review them to find out what happened. What they saw, angered them. A light blue, older golf cart pulled into their property off of Woodlands Boulevard on Monday afternoon around 5:20 p.m and young couple exited, picking the fruit and filling the golf cart several times.
Last year, the couple placed a sign on their property that said their home was under surveillance, to stop the pilfering, however, the city made them take it down.
“We don’t mind sharing a mango or two if someone knocks on our door and asks,” said Stuart. “But this is outright stealing.”
Please share and let us know if you recognize this couple or golf cart.
