Harley Bourdo and Mark Anthony Pizzani {BSO}
Margate police have arrested two people in connection with a violent home invasion and armed robbery.
According to law enforcement, a warrant was issued for the arrest of Harley Bourdo, 33, and Mark Anthony Pizzani, 29, both of Cooper City, stemming from a March 24 armed home-invasion robbery of Pizzani’s father.
According to the Margate Police Department, officers responded to a home invasion robbery on March 25. The victim reported that her son, Pizzani, arrived at his residence unannounced and uninvited, accompanied by his girlfriend, Bourdo, and an unidentified Black male.
Upon arrival, the victim alleged that Pizzani began banging on the front door and windows to gain access to the residence. Despite the victim securing his doors, the trio managed to enter. Once inside, Pizzani and Bourdo confronted the victim in his bedroom while the unidentified male remained in the living room.
During the altercation, records show that Pizzani took the victim’s cellphone and initiated a fraudulent $1 transaction via the Zelle payment app. He then attempted to transfer an additional $50, but the transaction failed.
When the victim tried to retrieve his phone, a struggle ensued, during which Pizzani allegedly brandished a firearm and demanded money, stating, “I need that money.” At that point, Bourdo tased the victim.
According to arrest records, Pizzani then took the victim’s cellphone, car keys, house keys, and a Chase credit card before fleeing the scene with Bourdo and the unidentified male.
The victim—who was left without any means of communication or transportation for approximately two hours after the incident—was able to contact his other son through a neighbor’s phone. Law enforcement was notified of the robbery, and a BOLO was placed on Pizzani and Bourdo.
Later that morning, the victim received a notification from Chase Bank alerting him to an unauthorized $2,000 Zelle transaction from his account to one registered under the name Mark Anthony Pizzani. Further investigation revealed additional unauthorized transactions on the victim’s credit card.
On March 26, the couple were taken into custody without incident and transported to the Broward County Main Jaill.
