For several years, residents have been complaining about our unsightly southern perimeter.  Unfortunately, even with the purchase of the country club by ClubLink, the mess along the perimeter still did not get cleaned up.  It looks even worse with the broken maintenance entrance gate and the 18-wheeler truck sitting back there now. Even heaps of debris are sitting in piles behind the club, with no landscaping obscuring this from view.
Last summer, residents in Section Eight contacted me to make a video after they couldn’t get the broken fences fixed along the perimeter. Â This is an area that many feel is vulnerable to crime from the surrounding area.
If you haven’t driven by this area, it’s located on the Lauderhill side or the side where the Woodlands Country Club (or ClubLink) has its maintenance entrance.
Having nowhere else to turn, I asked Mayor Kaplan of Lauderhill to see if  Tamarac Mayor Bushnell could help us.  This seemed to work because I found out there was a hearing with the Special Magistrate at the city today and those that were there (ClubLink and a resident whose fence backed up to the street) have until April 27th to comply, or there will be a penalty hearing on May 2nd.
While our perimeter will never look as good as Lauderhill’s, let’s hope that ClubLink clears up that mess out back and those fences get repaired by their owners.
