The Broward Center for the Performing Arts is set to launch an enriching semester of performing arts classes for all ages and skill levels beginning January 20.
These classes offer a unique opportunity for beginners and advanced learners in singing, dancing, acting, and improv.
Aimed at fostering artistic expression and self-confidence, the program includes a variety of classes for different age groups and ends with showcases and performances at the Broward Center.
Recognizing the importance of accessibility, the Center offers need-based full and partial scholarships for kids, tweens, and teens for the 2024 winter theater classes. Applications for scholarships are open until January 4, with families in Broward, Palm Beach, and Miami-Dade County encouraged to apply.
The curriculum ranges from introductory drama classes for kindergarteners to advanced acting and improv courses for high school students. Programs like ‘Intro to Musical Theater’ and ‘Broadway Dance’ allow young performers to develop their skills in a supportive environment. Special programs like ‘Mean Girls Jr.’ and ‘Trolls the Musical Jr. offer students a chance to participate in full-scale productions.
Adults are not left behind, with classes like ‘Breathwork,’ ‘Broadway Dance,’ and ‘Musical Theater Singing’ tailored for those 18 and over. These courses are perfect for enthusiasts and those looking to hone their skills in a dynamic and engaging setting.
Inclusive classes such as the monthly All Abilities sessions and the Special Stars class for the neurodiverse community highlight the Center’s commitment to accessibility and diversity in arts education.
