
Margate Police {Aiden Palmer}
The Margate Police Department responded to various incidents and made multiple arrests between January 13 and 19, 2026.
Crime Incidents
Burglary of Business – Margate Boulevard
Officers responded to a burglary alarm just before 3 a.m. at a business in the 6200 block of Margate Boulevard. Police discovered the front door smashed and deployed a K-9 to clear the interior. Investigators determined the door was forced open with an unknown object, and approximately 40 items of clothing were taken from a rack inside the store. Estimated loss was $5,000.
Theft – CVS, North State Road 7
A suspect stole laundry detergent from the CVS located in the 1200 block of North State Road 7 and fled the store. The suspect was later located, identified in a show-up, and transported for clearance before being turned over to the Broward Sheriff’s Office.
Theft – Walmart, West Atlantic Boulevard
A woman reported leaving her wallet at a self-checkout register. A store employee later turned the wallet in to customer service, but the victim reported approximately $200 missing.
Trespassing – West Copans Road
A man who had been verbally trespassed from a Marathon gas station shortly after 1 a.m. returned to the property just after 3:30 a.m. and was taken into custody.
Domestic Violence – Southwest 12th Street
Police investigated a domestic incident in which a man allegedly threatened a victim with a knife during an argument, slapped her, and caused visible injuries. Officers were unable to locate the suspect. A not-in-custody probable cause affidavit was completed.
Battery and Aggravated Assault – Southwest 61st Avenue
A woman reportedly struck a victim with closed fists, causing facial injuries, then retrieved a sharp object from her vehicle and threatened to kill the victim. The suspect fled prior to police arrival. A not-in-custody affidavit was filed.
Domestic Violence (Delayed Reports) – East Hemingway Circle
Police documented two delayed domestic violence incidents from 2024 involving a pregnant victim who reported being shoved, forcibly having her phone taken, and falling down stairs, as well as a separate incident involving multiple shoves that caused bruising. A not-in-custody affidavit was completed.
Domestic Battery – Southwest 54th Avenue
A victim reported being battered over a two-day period by a suspect who was allegedly intoxicated. The victim declined to provide a statement. The suspect’s whereabouts were unknown at the time of the report.
Arrests
Warrant Arrest – North State Road 7
Maximiliano Cabibbo, 23, was arrested after providing a false name during a traffic stop and being found to have an active warrant. Additional charges included violation of probation and providing false identification.
Warrant Arrest – Veterans Park
Osmond Heslop, 45, was arrested after being found in a city park after hours. Officers confirmed active warrants for resisting without violence and trespassing.
Driving While License Suspended (Habitual) – Royal Palm Boulevard
Henry Wright, 48, was arrested on a charge of habitual driving with a suspended license.
Felony Violation of Probation – Banks Road
Exscevin Davis, 48, was arrested on an active felony violation of probation warrant with no bond. The original charge involved sexual battery with a weapon or force.
DUI – North State Road 7
Stokeley Ennis, 48, was arrested on a charge of driving under the influence.
Retail Theft – Walmart, West Atlantic Boulevard
Christian Torres was arrested after allegedly concealing merchandise, hiding it outside the store, and fleeing. The stolen items, valued at $131, were recovered.
Domestic Battery – South Lakewood Circle
Henry Chavez, 40, was arrested after allegedly pushing a victim during a verbal altercation.
Multiple Charges – Rock Island Road
Donovan Marquez, 27, was arrested on charges including violation of probation, possession of misdemeanor cannabis, possession of five or more personal identification documents, theft of mail, and driving without a valid license.
Burglary of Vehicle – Royal Springs South Community
Two juveniles were taken into custody after being observed pulling door handles and entering vehicles. Both were positively identified, and victims wished to pursue charges.
Domestic Battery – Northwest 26th Court
Kevin Vishal Sooklal, 33, was arrested after allegedly slapping a victim following a verbal argument.
Domestic Battery – Toscana Place
Crystal Jimenez, 34, was arrested after allegedly splashing coffee creamer on a victim’s face.
Domestic Battery – North Pinewalk Drive
Paulo Florez Carvajal, 32, was arrested after allegedly making unwanted contact with a victim while taking her cell phone.
Trespassing After Warning – North State Road 7
Shanika Marcia Wint, 43, was arrested after refusing to leave a property from which she had been discharged and trespassed.
Domestic Battery – North State Road 7
Edward Earl Hughes Jr., 35, was arrested after striking a victim in the face. He was medically cleared before being transported.
Domestic Battery – Toscana Place
Teodor Sarto, 36, was arrested after allegedly blocking a victim in a bathroom, snatching items from her hands, and pushing her against a mirror.
Aggravated Battery Domestic Violence – Northwest 73rd Avenue
Arlette Petermeyer, 20, was charged after allegedly striking a victim, pulling his hair, and tasing him multiple times, resulting in a dislocated shoulder. A not-in-custody affidavit was completed.
Felony Battery on a Pregnant Victim – Southwest 56th Avenue
Mayra Alejandra Lanza Lopez, 40, was arrested after allegedly engaging in a physical altercation while knowing the victim was pregnant.
Armed Trespassing – Rock Island Road (McDivots)
Four individuals were arrested or issued notices to appear following a trespassing incident. One suspect was charged with armed trespassing involving a firearm and transported to jail.
DUI and Resisting Without Violence – West Atlantic Boulevard
David Strout, 64, was arrested on charges of driving under the influence and resisting without violence.
