Margate Crime update by Margate Talk

The Margate Police Department responded to a variety of incidents and made multiple arrests between August 12 and 18, 2025.

Stolen Property

Stolen Tag reported at 1100 S SR 7 on Aug. 17. A tag was stolen from the victim’s Toyota while they were at church between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.

Grand Theft/Auto reported at 3295 N Pinewalk Dr. A grey 2021 Honda Accord was stolen.

Vehicle Burglary reported overnight on SW 11th Street. The victim’s 2012 Volkswagen was rummaged through, the rear window was smashed, and both front doors were left open. Nothing appeared to be missing.

Catalytic Converter Theft reported overnight on NW 4th Place. The catalytic converter was cut from a black 2022 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport sometime between Aug. 17 at 9 p.m. and Aug. 18 at 12 p.m.

Retail Thefts

Walmart – Lafayette Adams (B/M, 08/11/1989) fled in a black Alfa Romeo after stealing a Red Bull. He was apprehended at Chevron, 5789 Margate Blvd.

CVS, 1200 N SR 7 – Anthony Darling concealed items in his backpack and left without paying. Arrested and transported to BSO Main Jail.

Sally Beauty Supply, 3370 NW 62nd Ave – Two unknown Black female suspects stole approximately $100 worth of beauty supplies. They left in a black Toyota Camry.

Dollar General, 700 S SR 7 – A Black male concealed a 4-pack of Dove soap down his pants and exited without paying. The victim desires prosecution.

Domestic Violence Incidents

Arrest on NW 63rd Way. The victim was struck with an open hand during an argument. Defendant arrested and TOT BSO.

NW 1st Street – Shanika Worthy (B/F, DOB 3/6/1991) arrested for striking the victim over a personal space dispute.

NW 18th Ct – Christian Perez arrested for hitting/shoving the victim after refusing to leave following a breakup.

SW 5th Street – Cherelus Rosly (B/M, DOB 02/16/1983) arrested for battery by strangulation.

Kathy Ct – Rafael Villa (DOB 10/13/92) slapped the victim; delayed reporting, and the suspect was not located. NIC completed.

SW 9th Street – Jerry Dureus violated a six-year-old domestic injunction order. NIC to be filed.

SW 50th Terrace – Kassandra Afanador (W/F, DOB 01/11/01) arrested after threatening the victim with scissors and attempting to run him over. TOT BSO.

Winfield Blvd – Bryan Rikhiram (DOB 4/25/84) arrested for pushing the victim onto the couch, climbing on top, and threatening further violence.

Arrests

Felony Warrant/VOP Arrest – Ronnie L. Hoggins Jr. (B/M, DOB 11/08/1974) arrested at 6050 NW 9th St. during a traffic stop. Five felony fraud-related warrants out of Broward County.

Fleeing/Eluding Arrest – Armon Amini (H/M, DOB 03/12/1998) arrested by SOD at 4300 W Atlantic Blvd.

Possession with Intent to Sell – Everton Francis (B/M, DOB 09/10/2004) arrested at 7305 W Sample Rd. Found with cannabis, cocaine, psilocybin mushrooms, and oxycodone.

DUI Arrest – Michael Douberly arrested at 590 SR 7.

DWLS 3rd or Subsequent – Teara Resse (DOB 03/08/2004) arrested at 7300 Southgate Blvd.

DUI & VOP Warrant – Marvin Ramos (DOB 08/08/00) arrested at 1100 S SR 7.

Possession with Intent to Sell Cannabis – Anthony T. Etienne (B/M, DOB 07/05/93) arrested at 426 Lakeside Dr. after 401g of cannabis packaged for sale and cash recovered.

Warrant Arrest – Adelo Rodriguez (W/M, DOB 04/24/66) arrested at 6650 W Atlantic Blvd. Four active traffic warrants.

Out of County Warrant Arrest – Michael Haburey (W/M, DOB 11/24/76) arrested at 451 Banks Rd. #1.

Warrant Arrest – Philip R. Danforth (W/M, DOB 11/26/1976) arrested at 1200 N SR 7. Warrants included a writ of arrest/commitment (BSO, $1,498 bond) and identity theft from El Paso County, Colorado, with extradition.

Drug Possession Arrest – Kashema Dawkins (B/F, DOB 10/06/93) arrested at 100 Rock Island Rd. for possession, VOP, and tint violation. Found with 24 IDs, $8,000 cash, multiple debit cards, SIM cards, and cell phones. CID notified.
