Broward Sheriff’s Office robbery detectives hope to identify a man who attempted to rob a Winn Dixie store at approximately 7:30 Thursday (6/16/11) evening. The suspect walked into the grocery store located at 3118 W. Commercial Blvd. in Tamarac wearing a red baseball cap with long dreadlocks sticking out the back of the cap and a white button-down, long sleeve shirt. He was talking on his cell phone when he approached a clerk at the customer service counter and handed her a note implying he had a gun and demanding cash. Once the clerk realized he was serious, she accidentally locked the cash register. The suspect grabbed his note back and left empty-handed. Anyone with information on this case is asked to call BSO Robbery Det. Brian Walker at (954) 321-4270 or Broward Crime Stoppers at (954) 493-TIPS (8477) or online at www.browardcrimestoppers.org.
