Margate Streetscape Project Nears Completion

Commission Raises the Amount of Money City Manager Can Spend

Residents will soon see a major streetscape project through to completion.

The Margate Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) improvement project that runs along Margate Boulevard between State Road 7 and East River Drive and on Northwest 58^th Avenue between Park Drive and Northwest 12^th Street could be completed by the end of September, according to Lisa Huriash, public information officer.

The contract for the Margate Boulevard project is $1,129,272.23 and includes roadwork, electrical upgrades, and ADA accessibility improvements.

The work completed includes crosswalk and ramp restorations to make them accessible to people with disabilities, road resurfacing, drainage improvements, and some landscaping improvements.

The remaining work includes final landscaping improvements, mostly at the Clock Tower roundabout, and the installation of lighting fixtures in the median, according to Huriash.
