North Broward Prep goaltender Zach Brown is officially committed to playing college soccer at Haverford College in Pennsylvania.

Brown says it is pretty surreal but has a lot of mixed emotions.

“I am super excited to commit to completing what’s needed to finish up my application and essay to such an amazing college,” Brown said. “I still do have some of that senior-year stress with classwork and athletic responsibilities, but I cannot wait to continue this journey with Haverford College.”

Brown began playing soccer right when he started walking and playing Little League indoor soccer. He was always drawn to playing goalie and received a Little Tykes hockey set, where he would stand in front while his parents would pepper him with shots.

He eventually transitioned to travel soccer and is now playing club soccer for the Parkland Soccer Club. He also has played two years on the varsity team at NBP, where the Eagles have won 17 games during those two years.

Brown was intrigued by the education and opportunities of where to play in college.

“Being able to receive such a great education while playing soccer at the collegiate level is a dream come true, Brown added. “I am very thankful for Coach Brenner bringing me along this process towards a new chapter for Haverford Mens Soccer, building on the school’s famed legacy.”

Brown will have one more year left on varsity, with the season starting on October 31 against Boca Raton Community High School. He hopes to continue his technique and keep improving every day.

Haverford is 1-1-5 this year, with their only win against William Paterson University in New Jersey.
