Sean Richards could not have planned for a better golf season than what he’s had at North Broward Prep this year.
The 17-year-old senior has been a medalist in four matches while breaking the nine and 18-hole individual school course records of 31 and 68.
The records were previously held by Jeff Dennis (2002, 2004) and Joey Marino (2008).
Residing in Parkland, his father, Mike, runs the Mike Richards Golf Academy at the Parkland Golf and Country Club.
With a nine and 18-hole season average of 36 and 71.8, Richards credits his ability to perform at a high level because of his work ethic.
“Playing golf has been an amazing opportunity where I’m able to compete at a high level and meet players from other schools,” said Sean. “I’m focusing my attention on the upcoming district tournament because the last four matches were canceled due to weather.”
The District 15 Tournament is scheduled at The City of Pompano Beach Municipal Golf Course on Wednesday, October 26, at 8:30 a.m.
Sean intends to play golf at the collegiate level; however, he has not committed to a university yet.
