Margate is getting ready for the Fourth of July Extravaganza.
A parade will begin at 9 a.m. along Margate Boulevard, starting at Northwest 76th Avenue and ending at the City Hall roundabout. The community is encouraged to attend. Awards will be given to a private business, a non-profit organization, and a Margate family for best participation. After the parade, the Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) will provide refreshments, according to city information.
The celebration will continue with a pool party from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Calypso Cove, located at 6200 Royal Palm Boulevard, featuring a DJ and caricature artists. From 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., a party featuring bounce houses, live entertainment, and a 9 p.m. fireworks display will take place at State Road 7 and Margate Boulevard, according to city information.
Commissioner Tommy Ruzzano is looking forward to the parade, and that 10,000 ice pops will be provided.
Vice Mayor Antonio Arserio is looking forward to the parade and fireworks show and that residents should attend the display rather than setting off their fireworks.
