Coco {City of Margate}
Margate honored Coco, a therapy dog who died after being a loyal friend in the community for 14 years.
Tom Savoca, a former Margate police officer, trained Coco and would visit Margate and Liberty Elementary Schools, as well as other schools, senior centers, and places where a therapy dog was needed.
During a special presentation at the October 8 meeting, Mayor Arlene Schwartz showed a video on the life of Coco, a female German Shepherd, and read letters complimenting the dog. She gave Savoca a commemorative certificate.
“Coco provided comfort to many people, and she was always there for the community as a loyal friend,” said Savoca.
He owns Dog Training Does Matter, located in Margate, which offers various forms of dog training, including therapy dog training.
